city things

Just made it to the city! I'll be here for a couple of days to try to find an apartment and deal with anything Parsons related. It's going to be a week full of appointments >:{, but I am so looking forward to the event for the new students at Parson, so excited to meet everyone!

Short Suit

Sports Chic, an incredible trend that couldn't become more in handy during this days. The summer is in its full power people, the sun is out the longest time during our short 24h days, it's hot, and the worst, humid. So, all I can think of to be able to keep it chic, yet cool, is using the "short suit". Which really you can wear it with heels, wedges, absolutely anything and still look fab and on top of your game. I decided to wear it with my converse to complement the sports vibe of the shorts. These shorts are amazing, the fit and style of a workout pant, but made of a really nice fabric. I'm really liking the sporty trend that is going on right now, how about you guys?

I'm bringing sexy back

Love, love this shirt! It gives me the "Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll" feeling! I paired it with my palm & flower trouser to add color. But let me just be honest with you guys, I wore this trouser because all I really want to wear is flowered bottoms, and I'm constantly looking for excuses like "to add color" to validate my obsession ;) Anyways, I wore this pair of pumps to add a little sophistication to the look, and mainly because I didn't want to end up looking like a groupie ;)

Statement Necklaces! What I call the cherrie on top, and what I believe takes an outfit to the other level. I personally love to accessorize with these. A really simple outfit like a shirt and jeans can look incredibly stylish by just adding a big statement necklace, especially when you are adding color and contrast. TRY IT!

flowers and little studs

I am still in the flower mood, can you tell? ;) The days are getting warmer and warmer, bittersweet! The fact that in Puerto Rico is summer all year long (NO seasons) makes me take the summer for granted, it doesn't really excite me at all. So right now, yes I am happy that I can wear t-shits and shorts but I do miss those chilly days in which I can wear boots and pretty little jackets, especially now that I've got these amazing booties from TopShop. 

I was actually indecisive if I should've got them or not, but my indecision didn't even last a day. Who was I kidding, anything that assimilates Mary Poppins shoes, I am getting, no questions asked. So here there are!

Rocking Attraction

I'm quite obsessed with one of Chanel's S/S 2012 nail polishes, "Attraction". It is a pearly vibrant white, I would say perfect for the Summer. I've always loved using strong whites in my nails, ever since high school. In fact, I remember when my girl friends would laugh about it and tell me that I looked like I had liquid paper on. So, Chanel is rocking my world right now, they completely validated my use of white on nails! Thanks Chanel!

NATURE

As an environmental scientist every time I am surrounded by anything but nature I become a kid again. Just because I understand mostly everything that happens in it, to me nature is not just trees, a river or the sky, is so much more than that. Nature consist of so many different systems (the soil, the plants, the clouds, the ocean) playing along and working together to give us Earth; what we eat, what we breath, what we drink, and where we live. It is just beyond amazing! 

A while a go we went to visit one of Ithaca's (central NY) gorges, which took me by surprise how amazing and gorgeous everything was. Just look at the pictures and you'll see! 

In terms of fashion, I decided to wear my floral jacket, which has the prettiest floral print I have seen yet, and my ombre mint/turquoise shorts. I felt in the nature vibe :)

PS. I used to be a ballet dancer, and this explains the picture that I'm jumping in a weird way from one rock to another, I'm not crazy, it's just a jeté jump :)

I am definitely a flats kind of person, slippers and loafers are my cup of tea. So, I am sure you all understand that I dying over these ones. Miu Miu always take everything to the other level; classic, chic and extremely feminine. Glitter, Velvet and Satin, I can't really decide which is my favorite pair. Maybe someday I'll be able to get them all! just dreaming ;) Ok, so how about the S/S 2012 ad campaign?! I'm in love with those earrings, probably because of the Marie Antoinette vibe!
